Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, associated charges, and your obligations for the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire Beverley, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence for the appropriate category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit are necessary, along with any other specific requirements stated in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Beverley office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally required upon collecting the vehicle. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. We will complete a vehicle condition report, which you will need to sign. Please ensure the vehicle is returned in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as it was provided. If the fuel level is lower, refueling charges will be applied. Late returns can lead to extra fees, so please contact us as soon as possible if you anticipate returning the vehicle later than agreed. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with a small administration fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Comprehensive details about coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial liability. It is important to review these options closely. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For specific details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or missed appointments could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. This includes racing, off-roading, or any dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is forbidden. Vehicles should only be used for their intended purposes, and passenger or weight limits must not be exceeded. Traveling outside designated areas without prior approval is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Beverley Car Hire will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including any loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in these regions.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect once posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your agreement to the revised Terms.
